Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre crossover event that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of forbidden practices and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.
The mission centers on "strange trials and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with numerous objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's third free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime properties. The series earlier included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
